The De La Warr Pavilion is the perfect setting for designer makers of the Sussex Guild to show their creativity and craft skills. The Sussex Guild is delighted to be showing for the first time at this grade one listed building on the seafront in Bexhill-on-Sea on 22 and 23 October from 10.00 – 5.00, in what is widely recognised as one of the most iconic Modernist buildings in Britain. Since its refurbishment in 2005, DLWP has gained an international reputation and together with the Guild show in the auditorium there will be plenty to see in the upstairs galleries.
At the Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show members will be exhibiting a variety of fine crafts including ceramics, creative embroidery, furniture, glass, jewellery, leatherwork, pewter, printmaking, textiles, woodturning and woodwork. Visitors can meet the designer makers of these spectacular, well designed and beautifully made crafts that are professionally created in small workshops and studios in East and West Sussex and the adjacent counties. The work can be purchased or commissioned.
Admission is £3 (accompanied children free). Your ticket allows readmission throughout the weekend. The De La Warr Pavilion is only a short walk from the railway station and has a car park, with free on street parking nearby. See www.dlwp.com for more information.
Bexhill seafront, with its wide promenades, cafes, restaurants, clean beach and water feature, is a great place to relax and unwind.
