British Airways i360 offers unrivalled 360° views of the south coast from its aerodynamically shaped futuristic glass viewing pod.
Conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, the creators of the London Eye, British Airways i360 is located on Brighton beach and is the world’s first vertical cable car.
Poppies appeared on the BAi360 tower on the 11th November 2016 and again on November 12th from 5pm in remembrance of the sacrifices made in battle.
Up to two hundred visitors can take to the skies for an experience like no other on the world’s tallest moving observation tower. Spectators ‘walk on air’ to view amazing panoramas with miles of varied and unique landscape views including the dramatic chalk cliffs, tiny labyrinthine streets of the Lanes, the wild expanses of the South Downs National Park, the grand Regency architecture and the UNESCO World Biosphere. On the clearest days, views stretch all the way to Beachy Head and the Isle of Wight.
The pod provides all-year-round comfort with air-conditioning and heating and is fully accessible for wheelchair users with bench seating. The Nyetimber Sky Bar onboard the pod is one of the most unique bars in the UK, where you can enjoy a glass of Nyetimber English sparkling wine while taking in the stunning views.
The beach building, at the base of the tower, includes The Belle Vue restaurant, West Pier Tea Room, flexible events spaces and a shop selling souvenirs and gifts, many created by local Brighton artists.
The free multi-lingual app includes ‘pre-flight’ information, fascinating facts about the structure and a kids’ section which includes a fun treasure hunt.
